Meaning Of Planning File
Entry
What is the meaning of planning file entry?
Scope of planning fire entry is to reduce the planning run.
All materials assigned with MRP are automatically entered in planning
file entry.
The planning file contents:
1. MPS
2. NETCH
3. NETPL
4. BOM Explosion
5. Reset order proposal.
Depends on changes in material planning or in proposal, system will
create planning file entry.
When MRP run system will consider only which materials having entry
in above contents of planning file entry.
If the materials is created before activating planning file for plant,
you must generate planning file entry for all material by tcode MDAB.
Planning File Entry:
1. The first process in MRP is the checking of the planning file.
The planning run and the scope of the planning run (which materials
are planned in which planning run) are controlled by the planning file.
The planning file contains a list of all materials relevant to the
planning run. As soon as a material master record is created with MRP data
and a valid MRP type, this material is then automatically included in the
planning file.
2. If a material was created before the planning run was activated
for a plant, you must generate an entry in the planning file for all materials
in this plant that are to be included in the planning run.
