2017 Strategy
Many once good dividends companies like Singpost, SPH, M1 and StarHub etc. are reducing their dividends payout.  This year, My Family Portfolio (since 2008) will be buying more Small and Medium size fundamentally good companies, Business Trusts and REITs that pay dividends.  My Family investment strategy is 10% trading and 90% long-term holding for dividends.

No major change to my investment strategy for year 2018. It will still be the boring buy and hold for dividends 90% and some itchy hand trading 10%.

Just came back from holidays, only dividend update for the week.  Next week, no more dividends received as we are now moving towards 2018. 

The biggest news this week was Keppel Corporation being fine US$422.2 million (S$567 million) penalty for bribing Brazilian officials, including some at state-run oil company Petrobras, United States authorities said on Friday (Dec 22).\

Many say STI is high now, but the highest hit was 10 years ago in October 2007 when STI was at 3,875.  So, everyone is entitled to their high opinion, that is what makes the market volatile.

Crude oil fell this week and affected market sentiments.  The crude oil up-trend is still intact.  A healthy correction after the recent run-up and STI managed to end the week at 3,382.38, higher by  41.08.
