Many once good dividends companies like Singpost, SPH, M1 and StarHub
etc. are reducing their dividends payout. This year, My Family Portfolio
(since 2008) will be buying more Small and Medium size fundamentally good
companies, Business Trusts and REITs that pay dividends. My Family
investment strategy is 10% trading and 90% long-term holding for dividends.

it support line of 2.40 the next day after I bought and close the week
at 2.37. Think it is going to be a losing trade for me. Well,

as it close at 7.67 for the week. Thought it might hit the resistance
around 7.275 but I was wrong. Selling is a very difficult decision, you
have to expect the unexpected. Hope to improve in my future trade.

SIA Engineering reported a 11% rise in their 4th-quarter profits. They attribute this to higher profits from associated and joint venture companies as well as higher contributions from engine repair and overhaul centers.
ComfortDelGro posted a 12.4% rise in their 1st quarter earnings despite a dip in revenue. Profit growth for the period to March 31 was fuelled by lower costs and a huge increase in investment income which mainly comes from a special dividend from Cabcharge Australia which was tax-exempt.

This week winners are Singapore top 3 banks which are DBS, UOB and OCBC. All 3 banks hit their 52 weeks high.
The STI also hit a new 52 weeks high touching 3237.81 on May 03 2017. There may be some profiting taking next week but the 2017 bull is still quite strong to continue its run up.

it have hit my target sell price. The other half is free and I can
let it continue to run on its own. Profit taking is important as
you can use the gains to increase your dividends intake.

Compare with previous week, STI was slightly up by 35.61 points.
Rising competition in SingTel key markets across Asia has prompted Henderson Global Investors, one of the world’s biggest independent money managers to sell the stock. - Fund manager tends to adjust their portfolios and I see the sell off as more of a profit taking as its price have run up recently. SingTel is not new to competitions, in Singapore, it had fence off competition from M1 and StarHub and I believe that it can continue to compete well across Asia.
SPH announced this week its first health care acquisition of a 100% stake in Orange Valley Health care (OVH) and all the registered trademarks and intellectual property (IP) rights used by OVH for $164 million. - I view this as a positive move as they should stop investing in new digital business and instead invest in health care which is in demand. They have successful managed SPH Reit and now they are starting small by gaining experience in managing a nursing home. The launch of SPH Health Reit is highly possible in the coming years.

Far East HTrust (Q5T) @ 0.605 - the economy is improving and this sector
have bottom out and its a matter of time when the price of all hospitality
business trusts start to move up.

SATS (S58) @ 5.04 - Due to its recent run up in its share price, I
decided to sold half of my SATS holdings to cash in the profits.
The other half is almost consider free and I can sit tight and take risk
to see how far up it can run.
