Can you make real money working from home?

Actually, I do very well at making money from home.
Being a teacher for years, I decided to give the internet thing a shot.

However, there are so many scams out there that it deters most from trying. Almost got me too!

Just do your research and find something legitimate and stick to it. A stay at home job is still a JOB! You have to work. Nothing comes easy or free!

I've also earned several thousand dollars working from home over the past 4 years. I started in home businesses and affiliate programs and moved into owning my own web marketing & design firm. I now run 2 small businesses (the other is in the IT industry). 

If I could give any advice, it would be to stay consistent and don't give up. It has been a lot of hard work, and it's taken a lot of lean months and sleepless nights. Sometimes it still takes that, but things are so much better than they ever were when I worked a job. And I don't think I'd change a thing.

So even if it seems like all of your work isn't getting you anywhere, keep going. And when you get discouraged and want to give up, keep going and work harder. My feeling is always that when things aren't going right, you're headed in the right direction - it just takes a little trial and error.

Working at home (as a job) is very different from owning a home business, and both can be good options for someone who can't get a regular job for whatever reason. However, in any case, no one gets rich immediately. It takes a lot of HARD WORK to get rich online, regardless of how you're going about doing so (as long as that way is legal). Legitimate new businesses will not be profitable immediately. If you're working an online JOB, it's like any other job in that you must be qualified for it, and put something of value out there for your employer to get anything in return.

To answer this question, yes, I've made money online. I haven't gotten "rich" online yet, but I'm a beginner marketer.

I have been able to make money online but it is not as easy as some people might want you to believe it does take work. I do believe some people are very successful but they work constantly to achieve the goals they want. It is no different from working an outside job if you don’t work the outside job you will not make money. I think in our society a lot of people think it is easier to make money online then an outside job. 

I think you should keep after your goals if you really want to make money online and you will find the success you're looking for.

Starting a home based business is not for everyone and it's not the only option for making money from home. There are companies, legitimate ones, who hire virtual workers for an hourly wage. Some companies even provide benefits. The key is to know what you want to do from home and to know which companies offer work at home positions. It's very much like working outside the home except you get to do it from the comfort of your home.

I've chosen this route because it was the steady pay I needed to pay off debt and provide the daily needs for my children. I love entrepreneurship, but there's a time and season for everything. When you have financial obstacles to overcome, then it's better to ensure that you have the certainty of a pay check which a newbie to business ownership hardly has.

Yes! I currently make money working from home. Let's see, it helps me pay my rent, pay my utilities, and put food on our table. It's a real work at home job. It didn't come easy. I had to do the foot work to land this job. It's no different than seeking a job outside of your home. Of course, there's big difference between a work at home job and a work at home business. A work at home job usually means someone hired you to do work for them from home. A work at home business usually means you own and operate the business (you have to work a little harder to generate an income). I'm considered an employee from home (pay checks come on time).

I have played with affiliate marketing and have made a few sales.

Sold stuff on Craigslist, Ebay, Amazon, etc... You can make some money there; you just need to have a good focus on what you are targeting. 

I am exploring network marketing right now. 

I will be using all the methods above. It’s become like a game to me, and it’s a lot of fun when I think of it that way. I am not making a fulltime income at this time though. Still developing my skills and making my own system of how to do it.
