Yes, that is how important planning can be no matter what kind of job you intend to pursue.  Asked any career counselors and they often repeatedly tell job seekers of the importance of having a career plan.  Proper planning before searching for any home based job to do is the key to success.  Don't be like those 95% who just hit the search button without having in mind what kind of home job they wish to find.  Without proper planning, most will end up pursuing something not in their area of interest.  The end result is only failure.

Many people wrongly believe that career planning is only for those looking for full-time paid employment.  That is really not true.  For those searching for a genuine online home based job, you should spend time mapping out your career plan first even before you start going online.

Think about this, if you intend to go for a vacation, do you first plan out where you wish to go.  Which mode of transport and at what price can you reach your desired destination.  How can you ensure that you have a good time once you arrived there?  All the details were plan out even before you embark on your travel destination.  Can you see the important of planning now?

Likewise, you should spend time thinking and pondering what you intend to do for your home career in internet marketing job. Here are some questions you should asked yourself first:

- How much time can you spare yourself to work every week? 
- Does your family support your additional working hours at home? 
- What kind of compensation are you looking at? 
- Do you like working with numbers?
- Are you good at computer programming?
- Are you willing to learn internet marketing, search engine optimization, building web sites?
- Can you write or do you like writing contents?
- Are you adaptable to something entirely different? 

Remember, if you don't settle into something you like to do, your home based career won't last long.

Building a successful part-time career requires the same amount of time, dedication and effort.  Don't think that a home based job is going to be a simple and easy task especially when it comes to an online job.  You are the same person building the web site, writing contents, working on the search engine optimization and other internet related work. 

One big different between your full-time and part-time employment is that once your at-home job income stabilizes, you are really to tender your resignation and leave behind the daily need to transport yourself to work.
