SAP Profile for Upgrading

  • SAP_NEW - When you are upgrading to a new SAP system all the new transaction code are store in this profile.  You have to do a mass insert of all the users with the new profile and slowly remove those unathorized transaction once the system start running.
  • PFCG - The new Authorization transaction.

Note :  

When upgrading SAP NetWeaver Application Server, new authority checks may be introduced into applications you already use. To ensure your users can continue performing their usual functions, they must be granted the authorizations required by these new checks.

Use Profile Generator: Upgrade and First Installation (transaction SU25), to update the authorization defaults and roles accordingly. Because this update can take time, SAP provides a temporary solution to maintain user productivity after the upgrade.

Run the report REGENERATE_SAP_NEW to automatically create the role SAP_NEW, which contains all newly introduced authorizations. Assign this role to affected users so they can continue working until you complete the role and authorization updates.
