Answers:

  1) 1/2 x 3 = 3/6
     3/6 + 1/6 = 4/6
     5/6 - 4/6 = 1/6
    She had 1/6 kg of flour left.

  2) 88 000 - 950 = 87 050
      S87 050 + 2 950 = 90 000

  3) 4/5 x 2 = 8/10
      8/10 + 3/10 = 11/10
      She used 1 1/10 metres of cloth altogether.

  4) 6 watermelons and 5 durians = 108
      4 d + 5 d = 9 d
      108 / 9 = 12
      1 durian cost $12

  5) 25 x 8 = 1200
      1200 - 300 = 900
      900 / 6 = 150
      There were 150 peaches in each caron.
