How to enable faster downloads

I have uploaded an financial accounting software on my website.  However, the download of the zipped file is taking a very long time. Is there any way in which I can enable faster download of my software.

It took me around 5 minutes to download the file with an average transnfer rate of 35.3kb/s. I can understand the frustration of the users with slow connections. You may not be able to do magic as the download bandwidth is dependent on the user.
Basically you can provide them a way of downloading faster.

Option1 :

File splitter option. Where you can split large files Split large files, then easily rejoin without the use of software. There are tools which allow you to split your files, a small program is created in the same folder and can be distributed with your split files, which will allow  anyone to recreate the original file, with the original name. the one i know is filesplitter.

Option2:

Forcing the users to use tools like download Boost or Fresh Download. These tools get the highest possible speed,
by using 4 simultaneous connections (up to 8 connections) for the same file. Based on user reports, this method may speed up your downloads by up to 400%.
