  4) A bus left the Woodlands Interchange with some passengers.
      At the first stop, 5/8 of the passengers got off while 14 passengers got on the bus.
      At the second stop, 29 passengers got off and 5 passengers got on the bus.
     When the bus left the second stop, the number of passengers in the bus was 1/4 of the number of passengers
     when it left the first stop.

      Out of the 2/7 which she took out, 18 were given away and the remaining 52 cookies were eaten by her children.
      In the evening, she made another lot of cookies and she put 1/3 of them into the same jar as those made in the morning.
      After this, the total number of cookies in the jar was 204.

Answers:

  1) The distance it travelled = No. of revolutions * Circumference
       = No. of revolutions * Pi * Diameter
       = 72 * 3.14 * ( 2 * 23 )
       = 10400 cm

       It travel 10400 cm

   2)  Cost of luggage - Cost of shoes = $560.60 - $232.10 = $328.50
        Since cost of luggage is 4x cost of shoes,
        luggage = 4 units
        shoes    = 1 unit
        difference = 3 units
        3 units = $328.50
        1 unit = $109.50
        Shoes cost $109.50
        Jacket costs $232.10 - $109.50 = $122.60
        luggage costs $109.50 x 4 = $438
        Difference of cost between jacket and luggage = $315.40

        or Using Algebra,
        J + S = 232.10
        J + L = 560.60
        L = 4S
        => J + 4S = 560.60
        => (J + S) + 3S = 560.60
        => 232.10 + 3S = 560.60
        => 3S = 328.50
        => S = 109.50
        =>  L = 4S = 4 x 109.50 = 438
        => J = 560.60 - 438 = 122.60
        => L - J = 315.40

   3) Let the number of rows be n.
       12n = 10 (n+7) + 2
       12n = 10n + 70 + 2
         2n = 72
           n = 36
       Hence number of chairs in the hall were 36x12 = 432

    4) 3/4 of no. of passengers after 1st stop = 29 - 5 = 24
        Since no. of passengers after 2nd stop is 1/4 of no. after 1st stop
        No. of passengers after 1st stop = 24 / 3 x 4 = 32

        3/8 of no. of passengers when left interchange = 32 - 14 = 18
        Since 5/8 of passengers got off at 1st stop.
        No. of passengers when left interchange = 18 / 3 x 8 = 48

        or Using Model

    5)  2/7 of morning cookies = 52 + 18=70
         5/7 of morning cookies (in jar) = 70 / 2 x 5 = 175

         1/3 of evening cookies = 204 - 175 = 29
         No. of evening cookies = 29 x 3 = 87
