Answers:

  1) 20 - 6 = 14
      Luke now is 14 years old
      14 + 35 = 49
      Mrs Tan is 49 years old now

  2)  5002 + 2174 = 7176
       3950 + 693 = 4643
       7176 - 4643 = 2533

  3) Using the Guess and Check method.
      Cars      Motorcycles (Total 18 and 58 Wheels)
      Cars = 4 wheels
      Motorcycles = 6 wheels
      58 / 6 = 9.66 = 10 (rounded up)
      10 x 4 = 40 wheels     8 x 2 = 16 wheels      Total = 56 wheels
      11 x 4 = 44 wheels     7 x 2 = 14 wheels                  58

      There are 11 cars.

  4) a) Thursday given as 2844
          Curry puffs sold on Wednesday = 2844 - 700
                                                             = 2144
          Curry puffs sold on Tuesday = 2144 + 1846
                                                        = 3990

       b) Total curry puffs sold = 3990 + 2144 + 2844
                                              = 8978

  5) Siti count by hundreds
      Get the number after 4th counts
      4 counts (Siti: 2000, 2100, 2200, 2300)

      Mohan count backwards by thousands
      Same no. as Mohan: 2300
      Mohan's 4 counts (backwards): 2300, 3300, 4300, 5300)
