Your Success Potential

You may feel that success is something that only happens to other people.  Rest assured, it can happen to you.  It's simple enough to analyze your success potential:

  • Are you ambitious?
  • Are you willing to work hard when you have to?
  • Are you willing to put your interests first?
  • Are you willing to take risks?
  • Do you sincerely want to be rich?
  • Have you got the guts to accept change?
If you can answer Yes to these questions, even with reservations, you have just as much motivation to succeed as any of the people you have known, and just as much of a chance to make it.

It takes very little talent to succeed in most cases, but it is vitally important to use whatever you've got to the maximum degree, and not to overlook the slightest weapon in your armory.  Never write off a talent or skill, however small: it may come in handy someday.

There is a story that when the old Lord Rothschild, the head of the great banking family's English branch, was asked the secret of his success, he replied, "Sooner or later, in every man's life on  the Stock Exchange, there comes a time when the turn of fortune rests on his ability to speak Yiddish."  Your ethic roots, your half-forgotten school lessons, your skill at sports, your hobbies, fantasies and interest - all these may seem unimportant in daily life.  They may even be things you would go out of your way to conceal.  But they form part of that special human being who is you.  Each one of them, however obscure, may prove to be useful one day.
