Proven Tips For Work Out Motivation

"Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence.
A time to let go... And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over."
*-- Gloria Naylor

"Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs."
*-- Henry Ford

"We lift ourselves by our thought, we climb upon our vision of ourselves.
If you want to enlarge your life, you must first enlarge your thought of it and of yourself.
Hold the ideal of yourself as you long to be, always, everywhere - your
ideal of what you long to attain - the ideal of health, efficiency, success.
*-- Orison Swett Marden

What do you do when you are losing your momentum and can't bring yourself to do your workouts? Do you want to get back that work out motivation and get into the gym? Do you want to continue improving your body and your life?

Now, you may make used of these proven work out motivation to keep going:

Throwing Down A Challenge

Challenging a good friend, coworker or family memeber for a "get in shape quick" contest. First guy to run 50 miles, or lose 5 pounds - or perhaps hit a personal best on their bench press.

Changing It Up

Get a new spotter. Working out with the same partner works well at the gym - but sometimes it makes you complacent and lazy.  This is where your work out motivation is lost again.  If you think your partner is holding you back, find a new one and change it up.

Entering in a competition

Every state has local races, marathons, and sports tournaments. Find a sport you enjoy - tennis, basketball, volleyball, and use the competition as an end goal to motivate you to get in shape!

Joining a fitness forum online

Search around - find a work out motivation forum around the type of fitness goals you have and the sports you are interested in. There are forums for moms, for seniors, teenagers - and who knows, perhaps you'll make some new friends along with getting some quality motivation!

Having your family and friends keep you accountable

You're eating at home, you're watching TV on the couch - why not have your family and friends motivate you? Promise your kids a dollar every time they catch you sneaking fast food, or perhaps make a deal that if you miss a workout, you'll do the chores that evening.

Making a workout playlist

Find some music that pumps you up and gets your work out motivation moving - a good beat, great lyrics, or maybe just a band that gets you energized. You'll change your mood instantly - and get motivated to hit the gym.

The thing to keep in mind is that in order to maintain your work out motivation, "strike while the iron is hot." And this is true for all things, but especially true for attempts to regain momentum in stressful activities such as working out.
