DBS Share Price Analysis D05

DBS Company Performance

SINGAPORE, Nov 3 - DBS Group (D05) reported a forecast-beating 32% jump in quarterly profit to a record high as banks rake in the benefits of higher interest rates, but Southeast Asia's largest lender cautioned on the potential damage to economic activity.

Singapore lenders, among the most well capitalised in the world, have effectively weathered the COVID-induced slump, and are now taking advantage of rebounding Asian economies.

Dividends

Investors who buys DBS shares are entitled to a quarterly dividends.  In 2022, buying price of 32 gives you around 4 percent of yearly dividends, which is as good as your CPF special account.

Conclusions

To-date. DBS management have been quite agile and its share price have been in an uptrend for many years.  This means that any rookie investors who invested at the higher price during the booms or bulls time but have held through those dooms or bears time are well rewarded.  However, in order to buy and hold DBS, you need to have SPARE funds which you will not need for many years if you intend to held it for the long-term.
