If you have been in a job for a period of time and feel yourself bored and not fulfilled by the aspects of it then you may need to look at changing careers. Boredom, arguments with line managers and better salary are sometimes not the best reasons. If you are passionate about something then if you can find a job in that field then this would be the ideal option.

Are you qualified

Are there special qualifications or indeed skills needed to successfully work within your new career industry, this should be researched before hand with any shortfall in your skill base met with a tenacious attitude to learn what is needed and clue up for that new career job.

Do the leg work

Ask yourself and people who work in the career that you want questions like, what is typical salary ranges, incentives, what travel is required, how demanding is the job on their personal life and so on. Even questions like, what would be the career path can really help you know where you are going and getting to.

Work experience

To know about a particular job, many companies will take on work experience individuals who want to learn about that job and get experience - it looks good on your CV and gives you the right skills to succeed in a similar workplace in the same job.

Think about Consequences 

When you are sure you wish to switch career, then pay a thought to your family, spouse, partner, children, will you be able to spend time with them as much as you have done and if you can answer this honestly and maintain your standard of life then you should look at getting a foot in the door of an organization who can meet your needs.
