In most families, either one or both of the partners in the family is working full time with a monthly work income.  When there are two income earners, when one is out of job, the family can be temporarily supported by the other partner.  For the single income family, once that sole income earner became jobless, then the family financial is going to be in trouble.

In today society, everything requires money.  You need money to eat, pay the utilities, pay for transport, pay for your children tuition and many other things you need to pay.  Being unemployed or jobless can really leads to depression which is cause by the lack or shortage of money. 

Money is not the root of all evil.  The lack of money is.  Why?  Look at the crimes that are happening around you or around the world.  Most of it are cause by the lack of money.  People robbed bank, steal from others, sell their body, sell drugs and it is all cause by the lack of money.

When the sole family income earner became jobless, not only will he or she feel depressed.  Family members like the young kids and parents might sunk into depression too.  They might feel that it is their fault for not being able to help in the financial woes of the family.  The kids might even become so worried that they perform badly at school.

How to take pre-cautions against depression from hitting you and your family?

The best remedy against any financial woes is to ensure that you have enough savings to tied you over any unforeseen unemployment and finding another full time work as quickly as possible.

When you are out of work, don't keep bombarding your mind with negative thoughts.  The more you focus on those negative thoughts, the faster it will lead you to depression.  Instead, look at your own past accomplishment and believe that you can find a better paying job then before.  Research the local newspaper and contacts colleagues and friends as you might be able to find job leads that haven't been advertised yet. 

Never network before.  It about time you learn the benefits of networking among your own career peers.  Many people have found out the benefits of networking when the job crises came and how it help them to find their new job.

Learn to change your mind set about your jobless situation.  Take it as an opportunity to start your own home based job which you have been putting off.   Go freelance, work for free around your church or do some community work.  There are jobless people who got to know others who recommended them a full time job while doing community service.

Ever thought of a part time internet job.  Well, it one of the growing trend to fight against unemployment.  Take time to learn how to get started on an internet job as it one of the most flexible job where you are allowed to plan the hours you wish to work.

Whatever you do, never let your unemployed situations lead you to be depressed.  Read positive books and proactively seek out part time opportunities to prepare yourself even before unemployment happened.
